President Dalia Grybauskaitė met with European Commissioner for Competition Margrethe Vestager to discuss the strengthening of competition in the regional and European energy market. The President underlined that she expected the Commission to maintain a principled stand with respect to large companies, like in the Gazprom case on abuse of dominance in 2004-2012 when Lithuania and other EU member states had to pay excessive gas prices.
In Tallinn – Lithuania’s proposals on cyber-security
President Dalia Grybauskaitė attended the EU Digital summit in Tallinn, hosted by Estonia holding the Presidency of the Council of the EU. Malevolent cyber-attacks pose ever-increasing threat to the rapidly growing EU digital economy, thus a special focus was placed on cyber security at the leaders’ meeting.

Klaus Schwab has been at the center of global economic and business thought for the last several decades. He has personally invited President Dalia Grybaskaitė to the Davos forum at the beginning of 2018. It will be the third visit by the President of Lithuania to Davos, which each year gathers the world’s most influential political figures, business people and opinion makers.
