Wednesday, July 4, Vilnius – President Dalia Grybauskaitė will meet with Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on July 5, Thursday at 10 a.m. and will bestow upon him a state award.
Angel Gurría is awarded the Grand Cross of Commander of the Order for Merits to Lithuania for his active and tangible support to Lithuania advancing towards OECD membership. It is symbolic that the Instrument of ratification of the accession to the Convention on the OECD will be deposited with the Government of France at 10 a.m. Lithuanian time and it will be the time when Lithuania officially becomes the 36th member of the OECD.
The President will also bestow a state award upon OECD Director for Legal Affairs, Nicolai Bonucci who led the negotiations on Lithuania’s accession.
Angel Gurría is on a visit to Lithuania at the invitation of the President.
