Monday, April 8, Vilnius – President Dalia Grybauskaitė received letters of credence from Ambassador Reina Charbel of Lebanon.
The President and the Ambassador discussed bilateral and trade relations between Lithuania and Lebanon as well as regional and security issues and Lebanon’s dialogue with the European Union. According to the President, it is important to boost economic cooperation in areas of high technologies, engineering, food, and agriculture.
The President also encouraged the Ambassador to promote students’ exchange and actively engage in events representing Lebanese culture.
The diplomat was appointed as the ambassador to Poland in 2017 and this was her first appointment. Ms. Charbel has a background in psychology and the French language. She started her diplomatic career back in 2001, worked at embassies in Paris and Washington, in missions at the UN in New York and the EU in Brussels.
