Thursday, July 13, Vilnius – President Dalia Grybauskaitė received letters of credence from the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Masud Khan Raja.
During their meeting, the President and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations, including political consultations, trade and student exchange, as well as cooperation between the European Union and Pakistan. According to the President, bilateral dialogue between the two countries was expanding, and Lithuania was ready to share its experience in high technologies and renewable energy as well as to strengthen development cooperation.
Diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Pakistan were established on 31 May 1994.
Masud Khan Raja started his diplomatic career in 1987. He held a number of portfolios at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served in embassies in Nepal, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Azerbaijan. In 2015, he was appointed Ambassador to Belarus. He holds master's degrees in geology and in English literature.
