Sunday, October 8, Vilnius – President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended congratulations to President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović of Croatia on Independence Day.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Croatia. On this anniversary, the President underlined, Lithuania and Croatia also celebrate the important achievements reached, especially in strengthening the dialogue between the two nations and people as well as their cooperation ties in the European Union and NATO.
“Croatia is a key partner and ally of Lithuania. We highly value Croatia’s decision to contribute troops to NATO’s forward presence in our country next year. Together with Croatia we effectively address continental and security issues as we work to strengthen unity in the region and across Europe, deliver long-term goals for our citizens and Europeans, and build a common future for all,” the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
According to Dalia Grybauskaitė, much has been done to come up with common positions on pressing political, defense, energy and other issues, and to develop fruitful bilateral cooperation. The President welcomed the significant contribution made by Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović to strengthening the bonds of friendship between Lithuanians and Croatians.
Dalia Grybauskaitė wished the people of Croatia a happy celebration as well as continued happiness, success and prosperity.
