Monday, October 8, Vilnius – President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended congratulations to President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović of Croatia on Independence Day.
According to the President, Croatian people are good friends with Lithuanians and our bilateral dialogue as well as cooperation ties have become more open, especially after Croatia joined the European Union and NATO.
“Basketball is not the only passion that our nations share. We cherish freedom, we stand for it and we share a common approach to the issues on the continent’s agenda. By strengthening the unity of our region and Europe, we are working towards long-term goals and the future of our citizens and of all Europeans,” the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
According to the President, Lithuania sees Croatia as a strong partner in key debates on the future of our region and the entire continent as well as an ally that shares a common approach to security. Croatia’s decision to deploy troops in NATO’s enhanced forward presence in Lithuania is proof of Croatia’s partnership.
In her message of congratulations, Dalia Grybauskaitė wished Croatia and its people continued success, prosperity, happiness and a happy celebration.
