Dear Fellow Lithuanians,
Lithuania is into the second one hundred years of restored statehood on its centuries-long timeline. Let us mark February 16 as a celebration of freedom and liberation!
It is a day filled with pride in our country and its patriots who fought for Lithuanian independence – the ultimate goal built on shared vision and unconditional love for homeland.
Seventy years ago, the Union of Lithuanian Freedom Fighters signed the Declaration of February 16, 1949, in pursuit of the same noble ideals. The voice of a proud nation rose from a partisan bunker amidst occupation and violence, calling on all Lithuanians to stand strong and not to give up their right to live free and independent.
Let us cherish the legacy of our freedom fighters. Let us preserve it as a source of inspiration for courage and valor, resolve and dedication, encouragement and motivation to create the future of Lithuania.
This day will always resonate in our hearts as the voice of freedom and independence.
Happy February 16 to all of you!
