Friday, May 17, Vilnius – President Dalia Grybauskaitė is leaving for Kyiv on Monday, May 20, to attend the inauguration of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
According to Dalia Grybauskaitė, Ukraine is very close to Lithuania. The Lithuanian people, who had struggled many decades for national independence, firmly stand by Ukraine’s aspirations for a European future and strongly support its determination to protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The inauguration ceremony will take place at the Verkhovna Rada where the new president will take the oath of office. Later in the day, he will meet with visiting foreign dignitaries and guests.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi scored a landslide victory in the second round of presidential elections on April 21. He won more than 70 percent of the vote in Ukraine
