Wednesday, 9 November, Vilnius – Dalia Grybauskaitė extended congratulations to President-elect Donald Trump of the United States of America.
According to the President, the United States has consistently supported Lithuania’s freedom and independence, and the friendship between the two states was consolidated for ages to come by courageous and high-principled position of the United States not to recognize the occupation of the Baltic States. According to Dalia Grybauskaitė, Lithuania is convinced that the United States will remain the strongest and closest ally of Lithuania.
In her message of congratulations to President-elect of the United States, Dalia Grybauskaitė underlined that Lithuania was ready to continue strengthening transatlantic relations between Europe and the United States, jointly defend the principles of freedom and democracy, implement mutually beneficial projects in the fields of economics, security, energy and other areas, and continue work on the bilateral level, based on the U.S.-Baltic Charter and in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
Dalia Grybauskaitė wished the President-elect every success as well as long years of peace, well-being, and prosperity to the United States and its people.
