At the invitation of President Gitanas Nausėda, President the European Council, Charles Michel, arrives to Lithuania on July 5.
A bilateral meeting between President Gitanas Nausėda and President Charles Michel to address relations with Russia and Belarus, challenges posed by illegal migration and protection of the EU’s Eastern border, security challenges of the Ostrovets NPP, and pandemic containment measures.
“Whether it is the containment of the pandemic or the EU’s stance in relations with the neighboring regimes, we are able to respond adequately and effectively to the emerging challenges only by coordinating and working together at the European Union level. This visit of the President of the European Council will also be an excellent opportunity to discuss matters related to the EU’s competitiveness and welfare,” Gitanas Nausėda said.
The President of the European Council will take part in events to mark the State Day and the National Anthem Day. He will also go to the Lithuanian-Belarus border.
