Monday, November 21, Vilnius - Tomorrow (November 22) President Dalia Grybauskaitė will go for a working visit to Ukraine. In Kiev, she will meet with President Viktor Yanukovych and Prime Minister Mykola Azarov of Ukraine, attend the fifth session of the Council of Presidents of the Republic of Lithuania and Ukraine, welcome the participants of the business forum of both countries, and participate in the exhibition - fair of Lithuanian products.
The two presidents will discuss bilateral relations, cooperation in the fields of economy, transport, culture, and education. A special focus will be made on Ukraine's relationship with the European Union and European integration process.
"Tighter political and economic cooperation between the European Union and Ukraine is important for both sides. Implementation of internal reforms, improvement of business environment and promotion of anti-corruption struggle serve to bring Ukraine closer to Europe. This partnership yields benefits to Lithuania as well," President Dalia Grybauskaitė underlined.
During the visit, the presidents are going to sign a memorandum on the activities of the shuttle train "Viking", research and technology program for the period 2011-2015, and other documents of bilateral cooperation.
