Sunday, April 29, Doha - President Dalia Grybauskaitė, currently on a working visit in Qatar, met with the Minister of Energy and Industry of Qatar, Mohammed Bin Saleh Al Sada, to discuss the prospects for cooperating in the energy sector and gas supply to Lithuania. The meeting included the introduction of the project of the liquefied natural gas terminal under construction in Lithuania.
Later, there was a bilateral meeting between Minister of Energy of Lithuania Arvydas Sekmokas and Minister of Energy and Industry of Qatar Mohammed Bin Saleh Al Sada.
Both countries expressed their common interest to cooperate in the sphere of energy.
The managing officers of "Klaipėdos nafta", who are accompanying the President during her today's visit in Qatar, commenced bilateral negotiations on gas supply to Lithuania with "Qatargas", the largest LNG supplier in the world.
Today, the President will also have a highest level discussion with His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, concerning the opportunities to cooperate in the fields of energy and economy.
