On November 27, the Meeting of the Council of the Presidents of Lithuania and Ukraine will be held in Vilnius. The bilateral Council of Presidents has been organized for twelve years and will be attended by President Gitanas Nausėda and President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine for the first time.
The President and his Ukrainian counterpart will discuss bilateral political and economic relations, security and defense, Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration as well as cooperation in the fields of energy, innovation, transport, and social policy.
During the meeting, the two leaders will also focus on the reforms in Ukraine and the practical implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. The Presidents will discuss the EU Eastern Partnership and Ukraine's cooperation with NATO. Relations with Russia, the situation in Donbas as well as the planned meeting of the Normandy Quartet will be addressed at the meeting.
The Council of Presidents should also sign the Declaration of Presidents and two interinstitutional cooperation agreements on cybersecurity and electronic identification and trust services in the internal market.
