President Gitanas Nausėda and First Lady Diana Nausėdienė will pay an official visit to Georgia on June 10–12. The visit is aimed at demonstrating solidarity with Georgia’s aspirations for Euro Atlantic integration, implementation of reforms, and consolidation of democracy.
During the visit, the President will meet with President Salome Zourabichvili of Georgia, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, and Speaker of the Parliament Kakhaber Kutchava. The programme of the visit also includes the President’s meeting with local Lithuanian community and representatives of Georgia’s non-governmental organizations.
The President and his spouse should also meet with Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II.
Gitanas Nausėda will visit Russian-occupied territories in South Ossetia.
First Lady Diana Nausėdienė is going to enjoy a separate programme. She will attend the ceremony of unveiling a monument to Antanas Vilkutaitis-Keturakis and the presentation of a book “Ūsuota Levuko istorija” (“Levukas’ story with antennas”) by Birutė Jonuškaitė at the Lithuanian Language and Culture Center of the Georgian Technical University.
This is the first official visit of President Gitanas Nausėda to Georgia. President Nausėda met with President Zourabichvili in 2019 during her visit to Lithuania.
