On October 21-22, President Gitanas Nausėda will participate in the European Council meeting in Brussels.
The main topics will be migration, rising energy prices, the management of the COVID-19 pandemic, and preparations for the EU Eastern partnership summit. The European Council meeting will also focus on the upcoming Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, preparations for the ASEM summit, rule of law, digital transformation, and trade.
At this week's European Council meeting in Brussels, Gitanas Nausėda will present European leaders with Lithuania's proposals to bring about changes in EU legislation on migration, asylum, and border protection.
On the margins of the European Council meeting, a coordination meeting between the representatives of NB6 countries – Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, and Denmark – and Ireland will be held on Thursday.
