The President received letters of credence from the first Omani Ambassador to Lithuania

Saturday, June 19, Vilnius - President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė received letters of credence from the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman, Abdul Aziz bin Abdallah bin Zaher Al Naha'i.

In the meeting, the President and the new Omani Ambassador to the Republic of Lithuania discussed bilateral relations and possibilities to develop cooperation in energy, trade and investment. The President expressed confidence that the appointment of the first ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Lithuania would promote closer relations between the two countries.

The 49-year-old diplomat has an education in political sciences, acquired at the University of Jordan. For six years since 1994, he has served as the Omani Ambassador to the Russian Federation. In the period of 2000-2006, he represented Oman in Egypt.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Lithuania and the Sultanate of Oman were established on 22 September 1992. The Ambassador resides in London.
