The President received letters of credence from the Ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire

Saturday, June 19, Vilnius - President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė received letters of credence from the Ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire, Gnagno Philibert Fagnidi.

In the credentials ceremony, the President expressed confidence that the diplomat's active work would promote bilateral cooperation in tourism and business. According to the President, Lithuania and Côte d'Ivoire should make use of their seaports to develop trade more dynamically.

The President wished the Ambassador every success in his diplomatic mission.

The 57-year-old diplomat has studied at the University of Côte d'Ivoire and the International Institute of Paris. In 2004-2006, he served as the Ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire to Tunisia. In 2006, he was appointed the Ambassador to the Russian Federation.

Diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Côte d'Ivoire were established on 21 October 1997. Gnagno Philibert Fagnidi is the second ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire to Lithuania. The Ambassador resides in Moscow.
