The President received letters of credence from Danish Ambassador

Monday, January 17, Vilnius - President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė accepted letters of credence from Jørgen Molde as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Lithuania.

The President said at the ceremony that Nordic-Baltic cooperation was among the key priorities of foreign policy of Lithuania and good relations with Denmark were therefore gaining more and more importance.

The President and the Ambassador also discussed cooperation between Lithuania and Denmark within the EU and NATO and exchanged their views on issues of importance for the two countries.

The Ambassador, who can speak six foreign languages, started his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1977. From 1983, he worked at Denmark's missions at the United Nations in Geneva and New York and represented Denmark at the European Court of Justice. From 2006, he served as the ambassador for Belgium.
