The President received letters of credence from ambassadors of Libya and Peru


Thursday, November 4, Vilnius - President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė received letters of credence from Libyan Ambassador Abulhafed Gaddur and from Peruvian Ambassador Pablo Hugo Portugal Rodriguez.

The President and the Ambassadors discussed prospects for developing bilateral cooperation and strengthening dialogue in the framework of the European Union.

The 51-year-old Libyan Ambassador started his diplomatic career in 1985. With an education in philosophy, Abulhafed Gaddur has served as Libya's Ambassador at the Holy See and to Italy. The diplomat resides in Rome. He is the first ambassador of Libya to Lithuania.

61-year-old Pablo Hugo Portugal Rodriguez with an education in international relations and law is the fifth ambassador of Peru to Lithuania. The diplomat resides in Helsinki. In his diplomatic career, the Ambassador has represented Peru in Mexico, Russia, and Finland.
