President Gitanas Nausėda received credentials from Ambassador Karen-Mae Coralie Hill of Antigua and Barbuda via a conference call.
The President and the newly appointed Ambassador discussed bilateral relations, cooperation in the areas of digitization and climate change as well as mutual support in multilateral fora.
According to the President, the outbreak of COVID-19 has severely affected the lives of all the people of the world and had a significant impact on the economy. The coronavirus pandemic has brought uncertainty and a lot of challenges to the world however, it has not disrupted the diplomatic relations but opened new opportunities and a space for innovation. The presentation of credentials via a conference call was a perfect proof of this.
Lithuania and Antigua and Barbuda established diplomatic relations on September 23, 2004.
This is the first ambassador of Antigua and Barbuda, accredited to Lithuania and the entire European Union and its member states.
