Friday, September 21, Vilnius - President Dalia Grybauskaitė presented letters of credence to Jonas Semaška, Ambassador of Lithuania to the Netherlands.
According to the President, the Netherlands is Lithuania's significant economic partner, ranking fourth in trading volume and fifth by investment into Lithuania.
The Netherlands is Lithuania's ally in NATO and EU and, therefore, it is important to cooperate intensely and closely in the matters of common interest, she said.
Dalia Grybauskaitė wished the Ambassador every success in discharging the responsible duties of his position and in further efforts to the benefit of Lithuania.
In the course of his career, the diplomat served in Lithuania's diplomatic missions in the USA, Hungary, Serbia and Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, and in the representation to the European Union. In recent three years, Jonas Semaška has been Chief Adviser (Foreign Policy) to the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Dalia Grybauskaitė.
