The President presented letters of credence to Lithuania’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic


President Gitanas Nausėda presented letters of credence to Laimonas Talat-Kelpša, Lithuanian Ambassador to the Czech Republic. The President and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations between Lithuania and the Czech Republic, collaboration in the international organizations and possibilities for strengthening economic and cultural ties.

President Nausėda and the newly appointed Ambassador spoke about the possibilities of implementing Lithuania’s foreign policy priorities in the Czech Republic, focusing on the Eastern neighborhood, the fight against disinformation, and regional security issues.

The President emphasized the importance of expanding the network of contacts in the Czech institutions and organizations, promoting closer bilateral cooperation in the implementation of joint initiatives.

The possibilities of more active bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, science and innovation, access to consulting services for Lithuanian citizens in the Czech Republic, as well as the strengthening of the Lithuanian community in the Czech Republic were also discussed ath the meeting.
