On behalf of the people of Lithuania and on his own behalf, President Gitanas Nausėda extended greetings to Pope Francis on Resurrection Day.
The President noted that Lithuanians had experienced many severe hardships on the path of their millennium old history. But each time after long years of oppression, they would rise again to live a life of dignity and integrity.
“On this day, we have an overwhelming urge to look up from the complexities of our time and turn our thoughts to the future. Today we say together with you: we must become more united, we must open our hearts those who are in difficulty, we must create a fraternal world,” the President wrote in his message of greetings.
Gitanas Nausėda wished the Holy Father good health and spiritual strength.
