Saturday, 17 December, Vilnius – President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended congratulations on behalf of the Lithuanian people and on her own behalf to His Holiness Pope Francis on his birthday anniversary.
According to the President, the special attention received by Lithuania from the Holy See has always been and will continue to be a source of strength, inspiration and faith. Dalia Grybauskaitė took the opportunity to renew her invitation, and that of the Lithuanian people, for the Pope to visit our country.
According to the President, the Holy Father’s broad outlook and concern for every single region of the world fosters and generates the political will to address the most pressing issues of today. Dalia Grybauskaitė underscored that Lithuania highly valued His Holiness’ attention devoted to our continent and to critical challenges facing Europe.
The President also extended her warmest Christmas greetings to Pope Francis. She said that it was a very special time not only for the faithful around the world, but also to all the people who were waiting with anticipation for peaceful and meaningful holidays.
On his birthday anniversary, Dalia Grybauskaitė wished Pope Francis health, patience and resilience on his pastoral path as he shared the message of peace, reconciliation and compassion.
