President Gitanas Nausėda extended congratulations to King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands on his birthday and sent his best wishes to the Dutch people celebrating their national holiday, King’s Day.
“We see the Kingdom of the Netherlands as a deeply committed partner in NATO. The deployment of your troops to the enhanced forward presence battle group in Lithuania is a very important practical expression of solidarity and a major contribution to strengthening the security of the Baltic region and NATO as a whole,“ the President wrote in his message of congratulations.
Gitanas Nausėda noted that the two countries maintained close bilateral relations based on the common values of freedom and democracy as well as effective cooperation ties when addressing issues of importance for all Europeans: fighting the pandemic and climate change, ensuring economic growth and job creation. The President expressed his strong hope that intensive bilateral and international dialogue would be further strengthened by people-to-people contacts and cooperation in business, investment, culture, and science.
The President wished King Willem-Alexander, the Royal Family and all people of the Netherlands continued good health and every possible success.
