Monday, May 25, Vilnius – On behalf of the Lithuanian people and on her own behalf, President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended congratulations to King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on the occasion of the national holiday – Independence Day.
“I am very pleased that in recent years the political relationship between Lithuania and Jordan has grown substantially stronger and that we successfully collaborate in the United Nations Security Council. We highly value the important role played by Jordan in asserting common values and pursuing the objectives of peace and security in the region and the world,” the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
According to the President, Lithuania and Jordan have created a strong foundation for the strengthening of ties between the two countries, and therefore it is important to continue building regular dialogue as they expand cooperation at the bilateral level and within international organizations.
The Lithuanian head of state sent her best wishes for the personal continued health and strength of the King of Jordan as well as for the peace and prosperity of his country and its people.
