President Gitanas Nausėda extended congratulations to President János Áder of Hungary on Hungarian Republic Day.
The President also noted that this year marked the 30th anniversary of reestablished diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Hungary.
“Lithuania highly values the contribution of Hungary, as a NATO ally, to strengthening the security of the Baltic region. I am pleased to note that Hungarian troops will be back in Lithuania next year to conduct the NATO Baltic Air Policing mission,” the President wrote in his message of congratulations, sending his best wishes for the continued success of the people of Hungary.
Gitanas Nausėda underlined that Lithuania and Hungary cooperated constructively within the European Union to address emerging threats and challenges both in the region and globally.
