President Gitanas Nausėda extended congratulations to President János Áder on Hungary’s National Day, wishing his country and its people continued health, unity and prosperity.
“Lithuania and Hungary enjoy close bilateral relations and a constructive respect-based dialogue in addressing important political, security and economic issues within the framework of international organizations. We highly appreciate Hungary’s responsible approach to ensuring security across the Baltic region by participating in NATO exercises and safeguarding the Baltic air space. I am pleased to note that Hungarian crews will be back in Lithuania in 2022 to conduct the air policing mission,” the President wrote in his message of congratulations.
Gitanas Nausėda expressed strong hope that collaborative work would help to overcome the challenges posed by COVID-19 and would contribute to improving the general welfare of our people. He also underlined that Lithuania and Hungary would stand together to uphold fundamental democratic values as well as human rights and freedoms in our neighborhood.
