President Gitanas Nausėda extended congratulations to Georgia on Independence Day and sent his best regards to all its people.
President Gitanas Nausėda underscored that one hundred and three years ago, Lithuania and Georgia were two nations fighting to restore their statehood.
“More than a century has passed, and our countries are growing ever stronger. United by freedom, we are also getting closer to each other,” the President wrote in his message of congratulations, on behalf of Lithuania saluting the strong determination of the Georgian people to create a democratic, prosperous, and secure European country.
“We strongly support your aspirations to join the European Union and NATO. Your success will be our success!” Gitanas Nausėda said.
The President stressed that Lithuania was unwavering in its support to Georgian sovereignty and territorial integrity; therefore, it would never come to terms with the Russian occupation of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali.
“Today I am very glad to see Georgian people proud of their country, history, and culture. On behalf of the Lithuanian people, I send best regards and wishes to all of you!” the President wrote.
President Gitanas Nausėda will pay an official visit to Georgia on June 10–11.
