On behalf of the Lithuanian people, the President extended congratulations to Lithuania’s Baltic neighbor Estonia on the 102nd anniversary of its independence.
In the message of congratulations to President Kersti Kaljulaid and all the people of Estonia, the President wished for continued success, well-being and prosperity.
“Lithuania and Estonia share a common historical experience, including fight for independence. I am delighted that Lithuania and Estonia – two sisterly Baltic nations – will soon celebrate 30 years of their reestablished statehood. Estonia is a key partner of Lithuania in the European Union and an important ally in NATO. I am confident that our successful collaborative work in dealing with urgent continental issues will contribute to ensuring security in both our countries and across the region,” said the President in his letter.
The President expressed hope that an open dialogue based on mutual understanding in the format of the tripartite meeting of the Baltic Presidents would continue and took the opportunity to extend congratulations to Estonia on membership in the United Nations Security Council for 2020-2021.
