On behalf of the people of Lithuania and on his own behalf, President Gitanas Nausėda extended congratulations to President Zoran Milanović and all people of Croatia on the 31st anniversary of Statehood Day.
“Although Lithuania and Croatia are not geographically neighbors, our two nations are bound by shared values in building a Europe of the future. This has predetermined our successful cooperation within the European Union and NATO. I firmly believe that we will continue to work together as friends and allies to strengthen security and stability in both the Eastern Neighborhood and the Western Balkans,” the President wrote in his message of congratulations.
Gitanas Nausėda thanked Croatia for its solidarity in ensuring security across the Baltic region and the deployment of Croatian troops to NATO's enhanced forward presence in Lithuania.
The President also reiterated that Lithuania supported Croatia’s aspirations to join the Schengen area, the euro area and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
In his message of congratulations on Statehood Day, President Gitanas Nausėda wished Croatia and its people continued health and success.
