President Gitanas Nausėda extended congratulations to President Ilir Meta of Albania on the anniversary of the Independence of Albania.
Lithuania and Albania have been developing friendly bilateral relations for more than two decades. The two countries share close collaborative work within NATO in dealing with the urgent issues of continental security. According to the President, Lithuania supports Albania’s determination to join the family of EU nations and hope that accession negotiations will begin shortly.
“It is my strong belief that the development of broad cooperation between Albania and the European Union will expand the ties of friendship between our two nations, creating new opportunities for joint initiatives in business, trade, culture, tourism, education, and science”, said the President in the message of congratulations.
The President highlighted that he hoped that ever-expanding bilateral relationship would open many new opportunities for the people to develop joint initiatives in business, culture, tourism, and science.
