Thursday, March 19, Brussels – EU leaders meeting in Brussels discussed the situation in Ukraine and assessed the implementation of the Minsk agreements. The European Council decided that sanctions against Russia would be clearly linked to the complete implementation of these agreements which is foreseen by the end of 2015.
According to the President, systematic violations of the Minsk agreements do not allow softening our stance on the aggressor. Terrorists are consistently strengthening their positions with new weapons. Sanctions are needed to ensure the security of the whole Europe.
European leaders are ready to take more stringent measures, if needed.
