Thursday, December 10, Vilnius - Next Wednesday, December 16, the Office of the President will host a meeting of Presidents of the Baltic States and Poland.
The traditional meeting of heads of the Baltic States will be attended by the President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė, President of the Republic of Latvia Valdis Zatlers, and President of the Republic of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves. President of Poland Lech Kaczynski was also invited to the meeting.
The Presidents meet to discuss matters of importance to the European Union and the Baltic Sea region, including issues related to energy independence, and to agree on concrete steps to be taken to implement strategic projects of the region.
Wednesday afternoon, the Presidents of the Baltic States and Poland will officially open the European Institute for Gender Equality. The European Institute for Gender Equality based in Vilnius is the only agency of the European Union in the Baltic States.
