On Monday, President Gitanas Nausėda congratulated Alar Karis on assuming the office of President of the Republic of Estonia and wished him success and strength in working for the good of the people of his country.
The President expressed his firm belief that bilateral relations between Lithuania and Estonia – enriched by sincere friendship and reinforced by shared historical experience – would grow increasingly stronger.
“I strongly hope that our bilateral contacts in education, science, business, culture, and other areas will deepen and expand during your term of presidency, and that Baltic cooperation in the European Union, NATO and other international organizations will remain intensive and productive,” the President wrote in his message of congratulations.
According to Gitanas Nausėda, Lithuania’s and Estonia’s membership and collaboration in the European Union and NATO is a solid basis for consolidating national statehood and regional security and creating general welfare.
The President conveyed the best wishes of the Lithuanian people to Alar Karis and invited him to visit Lithuania.
