Tuesday, April 2, Vilnius - President Dalia Grybauskaitė presented letters of credence to the Lithuanian Ambassador to India, Laimonas Tallat-Kelpša.
India is one of the world's biggest economies, therefore it is important for Lithuania to look for specific business niches in this country attracting more investments.
The President noted that common Indo-European roots can be impetus for boosting the interest of Indian entrepreneurs, scientists and artists in Lithuania and enhancing Lithuania's visibility in India.
L. Tallat-Kelpša graduated from the Institute of International Relations and Political Science, Vilnius University. The diplomat speaks English, Russian, Norwegian and French.
In the course of his career he was adviser to President Valdas Adamkus on national security and foreign policy, served in various divisions of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was Lithuania's Ambassador to Georgia, in the period 2011 - 2012 was advisor to the prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania.
