Wednesday, February 24, Vilnius - "1918 was a year of immense significance to the three Baltic States. It was then that our nations made their first independent steps on the path of their statehood. Our common experience and trials in between the two world wars and after the end of the Cold War united our people and joined their efforts to achieve great results," President Dalia Grybauskaitė wrote in her message of congratulations to President Toomas Hendrik Ilves of Estonia on Independence Day.
Dalia Grybauskaitė expressed her strong belief that the ideals of freedom and the spirit of independence would continue to bind and streamline our actions towards building a prosperous future in the Baltic Sea Region and in Europe.
"Once again, Mr. President, congratulations on Estonian Independence Day and my best wishes for your personal success, endurance and for the well-being and prosperity of the people of Estonia," the President wrote.
