Dear Mr. President,
I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Lee Kuan Yew, the founding father and long-time Prime Minister of Singapore.
Lee Kuan Yew took on decisive responsibility for the fate of his country and its people at a very challenging and difficult time for Singapore. A profound and far-sighted statesman, Lee Kuan Yew laid down strong and lasting foundations for modern multicultural Singapore.
I offer my heartfelt condolences to you, Mr. President, to the entire Lee family and to the people of Singapore. I wish you all strength and fortitude.
Please accept the assurances of my highest consideration.
