The President received letters of credence from the Ambassador of Serbia

Monday, March 15, Vilnius - President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė received letters of credence from the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia, Radojko Bogojević.

 

In the meeting, the President and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations and Serbia's prospects of membership in the European Union. The President expressed belief that the long experience of the Ambassador in the diplomatic service would contribute to efficient development of Lithuania-Serbian relations.

 

The President also recalled her conversation with the President of Serbia, Boris Tadic, last September in New York, and voiced serious concern about deteriorating business conditions for Lithuanian companies in this Balkan country.

 

The 62-year-old diplomat has an education in political sciences attained in the University of Belgrade. He was nominated Serbia's Ambassador to Lithuania in March 2009. During his diplomatic career, R. Bogojević has served as the State Secretary at Serbia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Serbia's Ambassador to Egypt.
