Kėdainiai and Panevėžys FEZs - better conditions for investments

Thursday, March 15, Vilnius - President Dalia Grybauskaitė signed the laws on Kėdainiai and Panevėžys free economic zones (FEZ) after their reconsideration by the Seimas. Amendments to these laws have served to lift restrictions on private companies to participate in the management of Kėdainiai and Panevėžys free economic zones.

According to the President, previous provisions of the laws which allowed only state or municipal institutions or enterprises and the public institution "Invest Lithuania" to be the management companies of free economic zones, were inconsistent with the provisions of the Law on the Fundamentals of Free Economic Zones and contravened the principles of fair competition.

The signed FEZ laws, the President said, will provide more favorable conditions for foreign and domestic investments and will boost job creation in the country.
